Direct Injection Technology

Terminal Injection Orifice
(TIO)...Nozzle

Terminal injection nozzle with 7* internal taper for minimum turbulence

A critical component of the EXACTRIX direct injection system is the Terminal Injection Orifice

Terminal Injection Nozzle The Terminal Injection Orifice or the TIO applies a non-turbulent stream of NH3 for 2 inches from nozzle.

The liquid stream of NH3 is applied at a pressure well above NH3 vapor pressure. Energy = Mass x's velocity Squared. Energy = 790 lb./ft/se and using a .040 TIO
Horsepower = 1.437 hp using a .040 TIO.

The NH3 stream of molecules are applied deeper than the blade depth at the elevated pressure of NH3. The NH3 burns into the soil.

Airseeders use ................................   3/16" TIO  .018, .025, .030, .035, .040
Side Dress Tool Bars use ................   1/4"  TIO   .028 thru .125
Tool Bars use..................................   1/4"  TIO    .028 thru .125
TIO sizes are from.......................   .018 to .125

Once the Orifices are installed they are seldom changed unless the band spacing changes.

The dual stage manifold primary ports are normally staged at 1/3 to 1/2 of full flow rates providing a primary stage of metering at creeper speeds.

The TIO's are normally replaced after 1,000,000 gallons of system metering.

The compression clamp and TIO nozzle are stainless steel. The TIO outside diameter is 3/16 inch or 1/4 inch. The TIO Orifice tolerance is manufactured to precise dimentions.
